CPS Northamptonshire
Communicating effectively and accessibly
The Ecru team have recently launched the Northamptonshire area Crown Prosecution Service website. The Crown Prosecution Service are responsible for delivering Criminal Justice across the whole of England and Wales, overseeing every case. They work with the police and courts to ensure that the victims of crime receive the justice they deserve.
Local area websites give local people an insight into the workings of the Crown Prosecution Service in their area and give the CPS a local voice. A recent Government paper emphasised the need for the Crown Prosecution Service and other Criminal Justice agencies to develop a local voice. The Northamptonshire Crown Prosecution Service Website is the first site to successfully do just that. Enabling the citizens of Northamptonshire to find out exactly what the Local Crown Prosecution Service are doing in their area to bring criminals to justice and to communicate directly with the people who are responsible for their area.
The Northamptonshire Crown Prosecution Service website reinforces The Crown Prosecution Service commitment to accessibility. The new site achieves W3C Priority AA accessibility standards. It also reinforces the Crown Prosecution Services commitment to the Freedom of Information Act by making vital reports about the performance of the Northamptonshire Crown Prosecution Service available to a local audience.
Ecru have pulled off a major achievement with this new local area site. Whilst maintaining a professional brand they have also managed to make the website unique to Northamptonshire.
